# How to Use Sandbox

## State Manager

The [MOTAR State Manager](https://docs.motar.com/how-to/motar-core-services/using-motar-studio/how-to-use-sandbox/how-to-use-state-manager) denotes what status the course or listing is currently in for each step of the creation process. All courses and listings will start in Sandbox status until requirements have been met allowing the user to promote the course or listing to Production status.

## Sandbox Impersonation

Sandbox Users can only be impersonated in Devices and Training services.

The following steps will be using impersonation in the Training service for an example. **CLICK** on the user profile menu to access the Sandbox Mode Toggle. **CLICK** the Sandbox Mode **ON**.

This will launch the "Sandbox Mode User Selection" modal which will display the Sandbox Users generated for the user's Studio Org.

**CLICK** the carrot icon to expand the user row and view more user details.
