Spatially Aware Content

We are excited to introduce Spatial Awareness in MOTAR Studio. This update allows you to anchor your digital content to physical coordinates, bridging the gap between virtual assets and the real world.

Currently, you can enable spatial awareness for all asset types supported in Studio under Settings, including:

  • 3D Models

  • Applications

  • Images & Videos

  • Audio Files

  • Documents

Why Spatially Aware Content?

While we are just beginning to unlock the potential of geospatial data within the MOTAR ecosystem, defining the spatial context of your assets now ensures they are ready for future immersive capabilities.

Current Use Cases:

  • Contextual Accuracy: If you are uploading a 3D model of a specific facility, adding its latitude and longitude provides a definitive reference for where that object exists in the physical world.

  • On-Site Training: Link instructional videos or manuals to the exact equipment location on a base or campus, creating a "digital twin" experience for site-specific content.

  • Environmental Relevance: Tag 360-degree photos or audio recordings to the specific terrain where they were captured to maintain situational context.

How it Works

When creating or editing an asset in Studio, you will find new fields to input spatial coordinates.

  • Precision: Enter coordinates in decimal format (e.g., 38.8977, -77.0365) to pin your asset to a precise spot on the globe.

  • Dynamic Updates: You can update or remove these coordinates at any time as your asset requirements evolve.
