Patch

The Patch listing type is a new asset category in MOTAR Studio designed for software distribution files — things like installers, updates, packages, and archives.

Creating a Patch Listing

To create a Patch listing, open Studio and select Patch as your listing type. The creation flow mirrors the Document listing type with a few key differences.

Supported file types: iso, zip, msi, dmg, pkg, tar, exe, gz, csv, xml

Tabs & Fields

Info Tab

Fill in your listing details here. Note that the Info tab does not support preview images or video uploads for Patch listings.

Settings Tab

The Settings tab includes a Platform Types field where you can specify the target platform(s) for the patch.

Permissions Tab Works the same as other listing types. Set access controls as needed.

Digital Thread Tab Available and functions identically to Document listings.

Badges Tab Not available for Patch listings.

Hub Discovery

Patch listings appear on the Hub with a default icon when no thumbnail has been uploaded. A Patch filter option has been added to the main Hub filter panel, allowing users to browse and search specifically for Patch assets alongside other listing types.

Tags

Like all listing types, Patch assets support tagging. Tags are managed in the Info tab and can be used to filter results in Hub or queried through the MOTAR AI assistant.
