Installation & Tutorial Files
Files you will need to have on-hand for the tutorial.
For the following files, simply download and unzip to a known location. You will need them for the tutorial guide. If you need any extra help or would like to watch someone else setup MOTAR, check out our MOTAR Lab 2025 here.
Option 1: MOTAR Installer (Windows)
Local installations are now even easier for Windows users. Simply download and run the installer for Windows.
Download the MOTAR Installer for Windows:
Instructions can be found here: MOTAR Installer for Windows
Option 2: Manual Installation Files (Mac/Linux/Windows)
Download the appropriate installation files for you system from Dynepic's MOTAR GitHub repo:
If you are using the Windows installer, you will not need to download the installation packages and may skip to download the Tutorial files.
Using the link above, click on the installation file for your system:
Raspberry Pi - *.tar
Linux / Mac - *.tgz
Windows - *.zip

Click on the appropriate file for you system and then click the "download" icon.

Save the file to a known location. Depending on your browser, the file may automatically save to your downloads folder.
Once downloaded, open the file and extract the contents to a known location.
In the example below, the *zip file was downloaded and extracted to the directory:
"C:/MOTAR_Tutorial/
Make note of the file path for this directory, as you will need it during the installation process.

Tutorial Files
No matter which installation method or platform you choose, make your testing easier with Dynepic's tutorial files. Samples of content, users, and branding are ready to use.
Throughout the tutorial you will be adding studios, users, and several assets. These files have been bundled for your convenience.
Click on the link below to download the tutorial files.
Extract the files to the same folder you extracted your installation package.
Do not extract the tutorial files inside of the motar-docker-compose folder!
When complete, your files should resemble the structure below:
