Users will be able to organize each asset listing as a parent or child version and contribute assets across organizations where they have proper permissions. Additionally, users can remix assets they have “Modify” permissions on. This allows users to easily track version control and choose the correct version.
Some key features of an asset’s “Digital Thread” include:
Version control involves assigning unique versions to each iteration of a listing within a digital thread. The versioning can then be used to show a history of changes to an original listing which can include new versions and remixes created collaboratively by other users that have the access to do so.
Version Tree shows the entire digital thread for a listing including the hierarchy of all new versions and remixes that have been made in relation to the listing. The Version Tree can be found in Studio by selecting the dropdown next to a listing to view more information or in Hub on the Hub Listing Page for a listing.
Remixes consist of listings that are made up of assets combined to create an entirely new asset. The user will need to pick an original version of a listing to make a remix of, then they will have the ability to select all attributing listings to include in the new remix. Remixes can be made of existing listings owned by the user and their Studio Org(s) or listings owned by other users, as long as the user has permission to access them.
Users can assign Authoritative and Certified classifications to the listings that they or their Studio Org(s) own. Only one listing in a listing's version tree can be marked as Authoritative at a time. This signifies to other users that a version of a listing has been defined as the "source of truth" for that entire tree by the Studio Admin. Multiple listings in a digital thread can be marked as Certified, this signifies to other users that the listings are certified for training content.
